As the year progresses towards the festive season, here I am with a much due crafty update.
Let's start with something unusual for me. I am not much of a knitter. I don't like knitting and I am not very good at it but this was very hard to resist. The new baby yarn by DMC comes with a tiny stuffed toy, which you can fix to the finished hat. My cousin's baby is due in a few weeks, so... needles were bought and my skills brushed up. I did need watching a couple of videos to remember how to knit and purl but it was well worth it. I still have some wool left so I guess baby booties will soon follow! Crocheted ones mind you!
Mentre l'anno si avvia verso la stagione delle feste, eccomi qui con un aggiornamento, ormai lungamente dovuto, sui miei lavoretti. Cominciamo da qualcosa di insolito per me. La maglia non è il mio hobby preferito. Non mi piace lavorare a maglia e non sono molto brava a farlo, ma era quasi impossibile resistere a questo progetto. La
nuova lana per bimbi della DMC viene venduta con un piccolo peluche,
che si può fissare sul cappello finito. La bimba di una mia
cugina dovrebbe nascere fra poche settimane, per cui ... via ad
acquistare aghi circolari e a rispolverare le mie conoscenze in
questo campo. Ho dovuto guardare un paio di video per ricordare come si fanno dritto e rovescio, ma ne è valsa la pena. E' avanzata un po' di lana quindi credo la prossima tappa saranno delle babbucce per neonato. Rigorosamente all'uncinetto però!
Speaking of crochet, I have started a huge project which I hope will be finished by the end of the year. A granny square blanket. I saw this large, warm, cozy granny square blanket in a shop and after 15 minutes I was leaving the very same shop with tons of wool and a chart. Nearly 60 squares finished so far. I will need about a hundred so not too bad!
A proposito di uncinetto, ho iniziato un progetto davvero "grande" che spero di terminare entro fine anno. Una coperta fatta a granny-squares. Ho
visto questa coperta della nonna grande, calda, accogliente in un
negozio e dopo neanche 15 minuti uscivo dallo stesso negozio con
tonnellate di lana e uno schema. Finora ho fatto quasi 60 mattonelle. Ne servono un po' più di un centinaio quindi c'è speranza!
As for stitching, only slow progresses on my autumn leaves chart. Which is growing nicely though.
Per quanto riguarda il ricamo, ho fatto pochi progressi sul disegno autunnale... Che però sta venendo davvero bene.
And a small finish, stitched as a gift to a friend. As it has now been safely received, I can share a photo.
Ma c'è anche un piccolo lavoro finito, un cuscinetto preparato come un
regalo per un'amica. Dato che ormai è arrivato a destinazione, posso condividere una foto.
Next on my list... the bright new design by Eszter of
SubRosa. It's called Merry and I think it will soon decorate our front door. Hope so at least, I seem to have too many projects on the go!

Infine, sulla mia lista è appena apparso il nuovo bellissimo schema di Eszter di SubRosa. Si chiama Merry e penso che presto decorerà la nostra porta di casa. Almeno lo spero, visto che comincio ad avere un po' troppi progetti in corso!
